What could be better than a holiday ballet choreographed by a veteran ballerina of the San Francisco Opera Ballet, featuring a supporting cast of professional actors and dancers, with live music performed by the Official Band of the City of San Francisco, all so you can appear center stage under the spotlights of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts yourself?

At the Dance-Along Nutcracker Opening Night Gala, you'll feel like the Big Cheese, with a lavish spread of cheesy comestibles and other holiday goodies, spirits and waters available, all accompanied by the elegant, big band sounds of City Swing with Joyce Grant.

This year, City Swing performs Les Brown's celebrated big band arrangement of the Nutcracker Suite to set the mood for the Tchaikovsky to follow.
